Possible Upcoming Projects
Lutherwood Oregon
We last met with Lutherwood in the fall of 2024.
They are still making progress on the project and are currently still working their way through permits and land use. As of our last meeting, they did not have a project start date, but they do have plans set. The last major change was moving to footers rather than slab on grade, which shouldn't make much difference for our work, but shows that changes have been made as recently as last summer to the plans.
Lutherwood remains committed to working with Mission Builders, and the project continues to move forward, though slower than expected.

Jeremiah Community
We spoke with Jeremiah Community's team earlier this month, they were very excited to share that they have moved past two important votes with their local council, allowing the project to continue to move forward. Much of the planning has already been done, and right now they are anticipating construction to begin next year.
Phase one of this project will include about 50 tiny homes as well as a central community center. Jeremiah Community's group are very excited about Mission Builders and continue to engage with us as they get closer to building.
Other
We continue to have conversations with camps and congregations around the country, some recent conversations have included Arizona, North Carolina, and Iowa. Many of these conversations are preliminary, and more details will come in future newsletters as they move along in their planning.
Mission Builders 2X2
Small Projects possible later this year

After the success of Mission Builders 2x2 projects at Metigoshe and Flathead last year, we are reaching out to camps right now for project proposals for this year. One main probable site is Lutheran Outdoors Ministry Center in Illinois, which has many physical needs, like many ELCA camps, and is interested in finding a project that would be a good fit for a 2x2 mini project with Mission Builders.
Rather than waiting for the next newsletter to release project information, look for a separate mailing in early March with information on what projects are available and how to express interest in those projects.
Memorials
We would like to feature memorials for the Mission Builders that passed away in 2024. If you have someone you would like featured in the next newsletter please reach out to Josiah at josiah.benedict@elca.org. A short write up and a picture would be appreciated.
